This section of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path walking holiday follows 48.5 miles/78kms of this clearly way-marked long-distance hiking trail. You will see some of Wales’ most charming coastal landscape, wildlife, stunning scenery and history.
Hiking along Wales’ Pembrokeshire Coast, one of UK’s most popular coastal long distance walking trails, this walking holiday passes through the famous Welsh coastal towns and villages of Saundersfoot and Tenby, and you see the St Govan’s Chapel, Manorbier Castle and the impressive Stack Rocks.
You can hike this Pembrokeshire Coast Path walking holiday over 5 days at about 10 miles per day.
There is 1 optional day where you can visit Caldey Islands off the Welsh Coast.
The Pembrokeshire Coast Path walking holiday connects with the Wales Coast Path at Amroth.

All our walking holidays are self-guided and you must be a confident map reader and able to navigate from a compass bearing. The weather in the UK and Ireland can change quickly effecting visibility and underfoot conditions. It is important to carry a selection of clothing with you on your hike each day to cope with changing weather conditions. If you are not confident of completing any days walk, do not set out.
This walking holiday in the UK operates March to September and in either direction.
The daily distances are only a suggestion. If you would like to walk longer or shorter distances, we can arrange that too.
Our stated distances include mileage to the accommodation or pickup point and so may not agree with the guide book mileages.
Rest days can be taken in any location.
Why not combine this walk with a hiking tour in another part of the UK or Ireland. Our staff will be happy to advise on necessary transfers.

Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive at Angle/Pembroke
To start your walking holiday on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path you arrive at Angle or Pembroke. Pembroke has a stunning castle and makes a great place to start your walk on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path.
Optional Day: walking Angle to Pembroke 10 mile/16kms
Day 2: Angle to Merrion 12 miles/19kms
Walking on from the village of Angle you round the Angle Peninsula passing Sheep Island, Rat Island and Thorn Island before arriving at the village of Angle. You leave the coast at Freshwater West with its enormous grassy dunes and magnificent beach and head inland to Merrion.
Day 3: Merrion to Bosherston 8.5 miles/14kms
Then the walking trail diverts inland around the Castlemartin firing range from Merrion. Not be be missed on this section of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path is the 13th century St Govan’s Chapel which lies near the bottom of a narrow gully in the cliffs.
Day 4: Bosherston to Manorbier 10.5 miles/17kms
From Bosherston you soon reach the beautiful beach at Broad Haven. Then you walk around Stackpole Head. Today’s walk is one of the highlights as you pass Barafundle Bay, probably one of the most beautiful beaches along the entire Pembrokeshire Coast Path.
Day 5: Manorbier to Tenby 10.5 miles/17kms
After leaving Manorbier with its 12th century Manorbier Castle. There can be great views past Caldey Island to Worms Head on the other side of Carmarthen Bay and south across the Bristol Channel to Lundy. The walking route to Tenby goes across South Beach , Giltar Point around Lydstep Haven and past Lydstep Point.
Optional Day: visiting Caldey Island (Ynys Byr) and staying Tenby
Caldey Island’s history is steeped in Christianity, with the earliest Celtic settlement founded by a hermit, St Pyro, in the 1st century. The Benedictine Monastery became Cistercian in 1929. Take the boat from Tenby to go in search of the seals around the Lighthouse, visit the beach and the three churches.
Day 6: Tenby to Amroth 7 miles/11kms
From Tenby, with its fine beaches, harbour, interesting shops, bars and resturants, you walk along the top of the cliffs. The hiking trail passes through Saundersfoot before arriving at Wiseman’s Bridge. Todays walk ends at the quiet village of Amroth .
Day 7: Depart after breakfast
or continue on the Wales Coast Path.
