Our Pembrokeshire Coast Path walking holiday follows 126 miles/ 203 kms of this clearly way-marked long-distance hiking trail. You will see some of Wales’ most charming coastal landscape, wildlife, stunning scenery and history.
Hiking along Wales’ Pembrokeshire Coast, one of UK’s most popular coastal long distance walking trails, this walking holiday passes through the famous Welsh coastal towns and villages of St Davids, Fishguard, Newport and Cardigan, and you see St David’s Cathedral and many Neolithic burial sites.
You can walk this Pembrokeshire Coast Path walking holiday over 11 days at about 11 miles/18 kms per day.
There are 2 optional days where you can visit Skomer, Skokholm and Ramsey Islands off the Welsh Coast.
The Pembrokeshire Coast Path walking holiday connects with the Wales Coast Path at Cardigan.

We organize the luggage transfer so your bags are at your next accommodation when you arrive. We try to get your bags delivered by 4pm, but this may be delayed due to road conditions.

All our walking holidays are self-guided and you must be a confident map reader and able to navigate from a compass bearing. The weather in the UK and Ireland can change quickly effecting visibility and underfoot conditions. It is important to carry a selection of clothing with you on your hike each day to cope with changing weather conditions. If you are not confident of completing any days walk, do not set out.
This walking holiday in the UK operates March to September and in either direction.
The daily distances are only a suggestion. If you would like to walk longer or shorter distances, we can arrange that too.
Our stated distances include mileage to the accommodation or pickup point and so may not agree with the guide book mileages.
Rest days can be taken in any location.
Why not combine this walk with a hiking tour in another part of the UK or Ireland. Our staff will be happy to advise on necessary transfers.

Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive at Cardigan
For walking this section of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path you arrive at Cardigan.
At Cardigan the Pembrokeshire Coast Path connects with the Wales Coast Path.
Day 2: Cardigan to Moylegrove 9 miles/14 kms
You start with an easy walk from Cardigan to St Dogmaels along the estuary of the River Teifi. Then on to Poppit Sands and round Cemaes Head.
Day 2: Moylegrove to Newport 8 miles/13 kms
Another stunning day walking along the cliff tops on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. The Witches Cauldron is a massive collapsed cave which is open to the sea through a gigantic arch. You reach the highest point on the entire path at 574ft (175mtrs)
Day 3: Newport to Fishguard 11 miles/18kms Upgrades Available
Leaving Newport your walking holiday takes you round Dinas Head. Then along the cliff top to the quaint harbour at Lower Fishguard. Then on to the town of Fishguard your destination for the night.
Day 5: Fishguard to Pwll Deri 10.5 miles/17kms
Today you are walking around Strumble Head. The lighthouse sits on a small flat-topped island and guides the shipping into Fishguard Harbour. Great place for lunch and watch the ships go by!
Day 6: Pwll Deri to Trefin 9.5 miles/15kms
At Pwll Deri where there is an impressive hillfort, Garn Fawr. You are walking on a remote section of the Pembroke Coast Path today, finishing at Trefin the Neolithic burial chamber of Carreg Sampson is well worth a visit.
Day 7: Trefin to Whitesands Bay, staying St Davids 13 miles/21 kms
On leaving Trefin the Pembrokeshire Coast Path heads along the rugged coast to Porthgain and Abereiddy. Path makes its way around St David’s Head before you reach Whitesands Bay you then head inland to St David’s for your overnight stay. St David’s the smallest city in Britain with its 11th century cathedral and 14th century Bishops Palace are well worth a visit.
Day 8: Whitesands Bay to Caerfai Bay, staying St Davids 11.5 miles/18 kms
On today’s walk on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, you walk past the lifeboat station at St Justinian’s. As you walk around the end of St David’s Peninsula you have great views of Ramsey Island and possibly even seals on the shoreline and schools of dolphins and porpoises in Ramsey Sound. Finally walking to St Non’s Bay and St Non’s Chapel you then head back inland to St David’s for another night.
Optional Day: visiting Ramsey Island stay St Davids
Take an extra day to visit the island of Ramsey, an RSPB nature reserve. It is a vital breeding ground for seals, and thousands of seabirds nest on the cliffs, including puffins and Manx shearwaters.
Day 9: Caerfai Bay to Newgale 10 miles/16kms
Todays hike on the Wales Coast Path starts with a short walk back to the coast at Caerfai Bay. One of highlights on the St David’s Peninsula is the very pretty harbour and village at Solva. Todays walk ends at the stunning Newgale Sands.
Day 10: Newgale to Marloes 16 miles/26kms
From Newgale with its 2 miles sand the path passes long a beautiful stretch of the coast path through Nolton Haven, Druidston Haven, and Broad Haven. Then the Pembrokeshire Coast Path follows along the clifftops from Little Haven. Then on to St Brides Haven with its picturesque inlet with a 12th century church. From Nab Head Head the path leads to Musselwick Sands then head a short distance inland to overnight in Marloes.
Optional Day: visiting Skomer and Skokholm Islands
Take an extra day staying in Marloes to visit the islands of Skomer and Skokholm. Skomer is a national nature reserve and a marine nature reserve providing sanctuary for razorbills, guillemots, kittiwakes, storm petrels, fulmars, shags, cormorants, puffins, manx shearwaters, peregrine falcons and short-eared owls. Skokholm also provides a breeding ground for Manx shearwaters.
Day 11: Haven Point and St Ann’s Head, staying Marloes 15 miles/24kms
Today you are walking a circular route on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. You walk around Marloes Peninsula via Musselwick to Sands Martin’s Haven. Then around the Dale Peninsula, past Haven Point and then around St Ann’s Head. As you head towards Marloes Sands, the islands of Skokholm and Skomer can be seen, then head a short distance inland to overnight in Marloes.
Day 12: Marloes to Herbrandston 6 or 12 miles/10 or 20 kms depending on tide
From Marloes you head back to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path close to Mullock. then via Watch House Point and around Great Castle Head. At low tide you can take the stepping stones across Sandyhaven Pill, otherwise you take the 4 miles walk around the inlet to Herbrandston.
Day 13: Depart after breakfast
or spend some time exploring the area. We can assist with transfers to car or station.
