Walk Cumbria Way, one of England’s long distance walking trails, walking in the far North of England from Ulverston via Coniston, Great Langdale, Stake Pass, Borrowdale, Keswick, Caldbeck and Carlisle.
The Cumbria Way begins at Ulverston and is an 82 mile walking holiday through the stunning scenery of the Lake District National Park in northern England, ending at Carlisle.
On this walking holiday you hike through undulating pastures, farms and open commons and experience stunning views of Coniston Water. You skirt Tarn Hows, cross River Brathay at Skelwith Bridge and follow Great Langdale Beck, beneath the imposing Langdale Fell, to Dungeon Ghyll.
You are now in the very heart of Lakeland, crossing Stake Pass at 1,575ft (480m), and meandering through Borrowdale to Derwentwater and Keswick. You then flank Lonscale Fell and follow Dash Beck down to Bassenthwaite and around the back of Skidda to Caldbeck. The walk ends by following the River Caldew into Carlisle.
